The hype for Pokemon GO here in the Philippines might just start back up as a new online battle feature will arrive in 2020!
Pokemon GO has indeed come a long way since its first release in 2016. And in the three years since it’s release, it has added a ton of new features that maintained the hype of the game. And now the newest and probably the best feature to arrive on Pokemon GO is coming next year. Because Pokemon GO will have an online battle feature this 2020! And it’s going to be called the GO Battle League.

The news was made public via a blog post on their website last October 21st. And just like the journey to the Pokemon League, Pokemon GO players will need to walk in order to gain access to the GO Battle League. And although the announcement was short and brief, it looks like they’ll be introducing a ranking system as well.
They said that they, “hope this feature will make the Pokémon GO battling experience more competitive and accessible to more Trainers.” And by accessible to more Trainers, I guess they mean they hope to get more players by introducing a competition aspect to the game. Which is honestly a great idea. Having 200 friends to battle with is not enough for those wishing to be a true Pokemon Master! LOL. But it really does sound like a fun idea. And they finish the announcement by saying that they’ll be, “sharing more details in a special Dev Insights video soon.”
This may launch Pokemon GO back into the limelight of mobile games. I remember the time when people flocked to the streets, just walking around playing Pokemon GO. But the mobile gaming scene is only getting more and more competitive with new games like Call of Duty Mobile and Wild Rift. Is there still room for Pokemon GO? The Pokemon GO Battle League will release in the 1st quarter of 2020.
