OOPS! Looks like Miley Cyrus is under fire for her ‘You don’t have to be gay’ speech last night.
In case you missed Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson’s Instagram Live, she had a thing or two to say to what users believe to be about her ex-hubby, Liam Hemsworth. Ohhh, the tea!
“There are good men out there guys, don’t give up. You don’t have to be gay. There are good people with dicks out there, you just gotta find them. You gotta find a dick that’s not a dick, you know what I mean?”

But what was supposed to be an uplifting message for people who’ve been struggling to find the “right” one, people instead misinterpreted Miley and believed it as an insensitive move promoting being gay as a choice.
Naturally, there were some people who weren’t happy:
Miley, this is so not it. Women don’t “have to be gay” because they “can’t find a good person with a d*ck”.
Don’t use the queer community as a stop-gap because you couldn’t find a boyfriend.
People aren’t queer because they “gave up” on men.
This is so insulting. pic.twitter.com/lAzcEjHRcB

as a lesbian who was always afraid to embrace my identity because i was scared i hadn’t found “the right guy” it sucks seeing people i love and support say things like that. and i imagine the same goes for some bi people who feel or felt like they have to “pick” a side.

You don’t choose your sexuality
After the extreme backlash Miley Cyrus faced for her gay-related comment last night, she took it upon herself to clarify what she really meant.
She went on Instagram and Twitter to say: “I was talking shit about sucky guys, but let me be clear: YOU don’t CHOOSE your sexuality. You are born as you are. It has always been my priority to protect the LGBTQ community I am a part of. Happy Monday!”
