Maybe it’s time to consider getting an HBO Max subscription because Ghibli will make its home there and not on Netflix!

Okay, we’re not gonna lie. The HBO Max lineup of shows is looking tight! But so does Disney+ and Apple TV+. With so many options, can we even afford multiple streaming subscriptions? Or will Netflix be pushed out of the game? Especially since Ghibli films will be making its home on HBO Max! This will be the first time Ghibli films will be made available on a streaming platform! So maybe it’s time you really considered getting that HBO Max subscription.

Ghibli will finally be available to stream!

So far these are the Ghibli movies that HBO Max has released. You’ll get to see Howl’s Moving Castle, Kiki’s Delivery Service, My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, and Spirited Away. Maybe it’s too much to ask for Grave of the Fireflies right now. So maybe HBO Max will ease into heavier themed titles later on. But we absolutely love their starting lineup.

The competition is getting tough.

Aside from streaming services we already know and love like Netflix and Hulu. Before the start of a new decade comes a plethora of choices for streaming content. By the end of this year, both Disney and Apple are releasing their very own streaming services. Disney + is coming out this November 12th. And Apple TV+ is being released on November 1st. Which makes HBO Max a little late to the game, as it’s set to release in the second quarter of 2020. And honestly, all offer up a very attractive lineup of content. In both original and new content. But with the arrival of Ghibli to HBO Max, plus the two new Game of Thrones series’ that’s also now in the works, and the transfer of FRIENDS, makes it a strong competitor as well.

It’s honestly going to be tough on viewers to decide which streaming platform to subscribe to. But we think HBO Max is worth it for Ghibli content! Hopefully, they’ll add more to the Ghibli lineup soon! And we’ll keep you posted on those updates.

Are you considering subscribing to HBO Max just for Ghibli and FRIENDS? Do you think you’ll drop your Netflix subscription for a different streaming service? We’d love to hear what you think! So share with us your thoughts in the comments down below! Or hit us up on our Facebook or Twitter @UDoUPh.
