October 10, 2019 Franchesca Rivera
Are you interested in getting to know more about Astrology, but don’t know where to start? Then let’s start with Sun, Moon, and Rising signs!
Have you been seeing articles talk about Astrology or Zodiac signs, but they also mention your Sun, Moon, and Rising signs? And you’re just confused because you thought people only had one sign? While that’s technically true, your “main sign” or more correctly, your Sun Sign is the astrological sign the sun occupied on the day you were born. Don’t worry it’ll get easier to understand from here. We’ll take it one step at a time.
Your Sun Sign
So, your Sun Sign is determined by the date of your birth. And what astrological sign the sun occupied in the sky on that day. For example, if you were born on May 19, that would make your Sun Sign a Gemini. Here’s a list of the 12 Zodiac Signs, just in case you don’t know yours yet:
- Aquarius (January 20 to February 18)
- Pisces (February 19 to March 20)
- Aries (March 21 to April 19)
- Taurus (April 20 to May 20)
- Gemini (May 21 to June 20)
- Cancer (June 21 to July 22)
- Leo (July 23 to August 22)
- Virgo (August 23 to September 22)
- Libra (September 23 to October 22)
- Scorpio (October 23 to November 21)
- Saggitarius (November 22 to December 21)
- Capricorn (December 22 to January 19)
So just like the sun in our solar system, your Sun Sign is also the epicenter of your astrological chart. It reflects your individuality, your values, your creative energy, and is the sign that captures the essence of your personality.
Your Moon Sign
So while your Sun Sign is determined by the date of your birth. Your Moon Sign is determined by the date, time, and location of your birth. For this, you may need to consult your birth certificates on the exact time and location of your birth. Or you can ask your mom, if she still remembers that is. There are a couple of websites out on the web that can do this for you. But if you’re too lazy to search one up you can simply click here.
Your Moon Sign reflects your innermost thoughts and emotions. It’s like if you had a purely emotional voice inside your head that communicates all your emotional needs and feelings. You can check your daily Moon Sign horoscope to see how it affects your feelings.
Your Rising or Ascending (ASC) Sign
If you clicked on the link we provided that can calculate your Moon Sign, you’ll also be able to find there your Rising or Ascending (ASC) Sign. This is the sign that was rising in the Eastern horizon of the sky on the date, time, and location that you were born.
Your Rising Sign is reflective of how the world sees you, or the impression you make on others. This sign is also the one responsible for how you view the world and how you react to it. If you’re the kind of person that’s more responsive to how others see you, than you may just be more in touch with your Rising Sign. So check daily horoscopes of your Rising Sign to understand more of how others see you.
We hope this little guide on understanding basic Astrology facts helped you understand your Sun, Moon, and Rising Sign. And remember that Astrology is not an exact science but merely a guide. And should not be used as an excuse for toxic behavior.
