Super Smash Bros. may feature your favorite Overwatch character soon

“You can have every single one of them,” the lead director of Overwatch says to the Smash Brothers team.

On October 15, Blizzard Entertainment’s popular game Overwatch will officially arrive on Nintendo Switch! And we know many of you are excited.

Because of this, many wondered if any character might appear soon on Nintendo’s own popular fighting game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a DLC character.

Right now, there aren’t any confirmed news yet of Nintendo developing an Overwatch character for Smash. However, Jeff Kaplan, the lead director of the first-person shooter game himself greatly urges Nintendo to use any character they like.

“To the Smash Brothers team, whatever character you want, we love them all. They’re all our babies, you can have any single one of them. We have 31 to choose from.”

When asked who he would choose if he had to pick one though, Jeff Kaplan answered Tracer. She is the time-jumping adventurer hero in Overwatch.

“Tracer’s our girl, Tracer’s our mascot. She’d be my first choice”.

We see why the bosses of the game would pick Tracer. But if it was up to us (which is very unlikely and nearly impossible though), we would like to see really like to see Widowmaker. How cool would she look like in Super Smash Bros.?

Whoever they pick from the roster of Overwatch heroes though, we think the end result would be amazing. We personally love it when collaborations happen, especially with games like this. It’s really fun to see a character you love from a game jump into another cool universe.

Nintendo has recently announced more Smash Bros. characters to be on the way, and we hope an Overwatch character is part of that.
