TNC Predator is your WESG 2019 representatives!

September 25, 2019 Divine Sanchez

TNC Predator crowned as WESG 2019 PH representatives as they emerged victorious against Team Excretion!

Well, it looks like TNC Predator is only getting stronger after they snatched the spot from Execration to be the Philippine representatives for Dota 2 at the World Electronic Sports Games 2019! In all honesty, it all shocked us because we’re expecting TNC to underperform in this year’s WESG qualifiers after regrouping just a few weeks ago.

In case you didn’t know, TNC’s roster had to undergo major changes after their The Internationals 2019 run, which resulted in two of their members leaving the group. Particularly, their team captain Nico “eyyou” Barcelon and the face of TNC ever since the beginning, Carlos “Kuku” Palad. They were replaced by imports such as Park Tae-won and Damien Chok for Position 5 and Position 3, respectively.

Despite this, TNC proved everyone wrong after making it all the way to the finals of the qualifiers and defeating fellow Filipino team, Execration, in a best of 3 series.

And if you haven’t seen TNC’s victory against Execration, here’s a replay!

WESG champs

TNC Predator has brought glory to our country after snatching wins at the WESG. The WESG is an international esports tournament which showcases talent from different countries in specific games like Dota 2, Counter-Strike, and StarCraft. Up to date, it’s prize pool amounts to 105,000 US dollars and the WESG main event will be held in 2020.

In 2016, TNC became the champs after defeating Cloud 9. In 2018, TNC Predator took home again the trophy at the WESG against the all-Chinese group, Keen Gaming. Although Kuku wasn’t able to play during this time because of a controversy, TNC very well proves its versatility and adaptability as a group when they had to use an emergency stand-in.

Currently, the team members of TNC Predator are Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte, Armel Paul Tabios, Damien “kpii” Chok, Timothy “Tims” Randrup, Park “March” Tae-won.

Now, can they do the same after their surprising roster shuffle? We’re still hoping for the best for TNC in their WESG run. Again, we’d like to congratulate TNC Predator for this great achievement. And who knows, they might just bag a gold medal in the upcoming WESG as they did in 2018.
