We end up being exposed to these memes with different contexts that we eventually just understand the most random things. In fact, even just a few words are surely going to bring up specific memes in your head. Spongebob, Pikachu, polite cat, loss. See?

But there are certain moments when there is just a certain tune stuck to your head, and you know it came from a meme, but you don’t know specifically what it is. As your knights in shining armors, we are here to save the day! You can also consider this as a list of music you can use for some of your memes. *wink wink*

Check out our list of some of the music most frequently used in memes!

Simon & Garfunkel – Sound of Silence

♫ Hello darkness, our old friend. We’ve come to talk with you again. ♪  This is often used in memes where an unexpected inconvenient thing happens to a person. The funny thing about this one is how dark it is and how people just seem to accept their situation.

Darude – Sandstorm

‘Sandstorm’ is a 1999 song by the Finnish electronic music producer Darude. We can often hear it in memes recreating the song itself through different mundane things. Below is an example. Honestly, this is a QUALITY song.

The X Files Theme Song

This music could be often heard in videos where people are forced to think about a situation. An example would be someone being pranked, the confused person then looking at the camera, and the video pausing as this theme music plays. A+ meme.

Sad Romance (from Over the Green Fields)

Again, this a piece of music often playing in memes where something inconvenient to people. It makes you notice that people really have a dark humor… or maybe because we just relate to the inconvenience that someone else is facing.

This ‘Sad Violin’ meme song actually originated from a Korean drama called ‘Over the Green Fields’. Thinking about it, we wonder how people find this type of music and end up using it in memes.

Blonde Redhead – For the Damaged Coda

Go to the 0:37 time stamp to hear the iconic “haaaaaaaa aaaaaa aaaaah” frequently used in memes with a sad context. What’s hilarious about memes is that even though the message of the situation is sad, it comes off as comedic when music like this is incorporated.

Adult animated series Rick and Morty also used this song in a scene where evil Morty appeared.

Nintendo Wii – Mii Channel Theme

We swear this theme music is really good with awkward situations. It is also just really iconic and meme-worthy itself.
