TIME CAPSULE: Songs that are turning 10 this coming 2020!

September 6, 2019 Divine Sanchez

Feel old yet? Well, here are some songs which are celebrating their 10th birthday. Check them out now and get all nostalgic with the songs we grew up with!

It’s finally the start of “BER” months! The perfect time to just sit and reminisce the past years. Throwbacks. Throwbacks. And throwbacks. And we’re giving you a taste of our own. Get ready to experience one hell of a blast from the past!

For our fellow Filipinos out there, you might remember these songs like the ones you were waiting to be played in the MYX Channel. Have a clue yet? Here’s our list of songs turning 10 years old this coming 2020!

#10 All I Do Is Win

Another one! You know who it is y’all, it’s DJ KHALED! This is an iconic song we often hear in inumans because of its upbeat tune and especially THAT line but we’re not going to mention because—duh—NSFW. Haha! Featuring Ludacris, Rick Ross, T-Pain, and Snoop Dogg, this song was released in March of 2010 and will be turning 10 years old next year. Rest assured, even if this song turns 11, 12, or 13, we’ll still be hearing from this because—well, it’s THE BOMB.

#9 Replay

YOU KNOW THIS SONG! The chances are, you’ve dedicated this song to your highschool shawty back then and don’t you dare deny it. ‘Replay’ is a hit song by Iyaz released in late 2009 but found its way to top not until early 2010. And up to this date, it’s still melody in our heads that we can’t keep out. It got us singing like na na na every day. Get it? Give this song a listen like your iPod’s stuck in replay!

#8 Airplanes

Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are shooting stars? Well, we could use a wish right now. We wish Hayley and B.O.B. would do a collab together again. Back in July of 2010, this song captured the hearts of many because of its catchy tune and the realness of its lyrics. Care to go back? Listen to it right now.

#7 Mine

Here it is! Every girl’s national anthem back then. Oh, how we miss the old Taylor Swift with her country songs and long curly hair! Don’t get us wrong, we like the Taylor now but it wouldn’t hurt her if she started making these kinds of songs again, right? What do you think? Is this song probably the best thing that’s ever been hers? LOL.

#6 OMG

OMG by Usher featuring will.i.am still makes us say “OH MY GOD”. Admit it, this was your favorite song to dance to while taking a shower. Its sick beats and electro vibes made you feel like you were in the club even though you’re just like 9 years old then. Aww. This song makes us miss Usher.

#5 Rude Boy

When you hear Rihanna‘s ‘Rude Boy’ you’ll always feel like you’re the baddest b*tch out there. LOL. Am I right or am I right? This song made you realized that you have the talent for sexy dancing. Even if years have already passed, this song still has that appeal to it, no?

#4 Down

This song is seriously giving us nostalgia. ‘Down’ by Jay Sean has been the go-to song of every Filipino Christmas school party. Like seriously. If you tried hard enough, you can see on Facebook old videos of your classmates performing this song. It’s true, isn’t it? Kidding aside, where has our pretty boy Jay Seen been at?

#3 Just the Way You Are

Ahhh, yes. The #1 pakilig song back then. You may have heard of this song by Bruno Mars every Valentine’s Day when your guy classmates were serenading their crushes? Or even during promposals? Did you laugh? It’s funny because it’s true. Haha!

#2 Love The Way You Lie

Almost everyone knows the lyrics of Eminem’s part in ‘Love The Way You Lie’. This song of Eminem and Rihanna is probably the most OG song of all time. Yes. We are claiming it. There are times when we still find ourselves listening to this song even if 9 years already passed. And let’s talk about the video. Why do we feel like Megan Fox hasn’t aged?

#1 Baby

Our baby boy Justin Bieber still hasn’t failed us. ‘Baby’ is still the most-watched video on youtube with 2 billion views (and most dislikes). Even though he’s taking a break from music now, he’s still #1 in our hearts with his ‘Baby’ featuring Ludacris. You may even have memorized Ludacris rap when you were 13!

We’re not lying when we said the songs on this list were the ones you were waiting for on TV. Did you have a surge of nostalgia? Well, we did!
