August 20, 2019 UDOU Team

Kickstart your week with a good dose of OPM! So here’s our Weekly Top 5 OPM Artists to help you get by the week!

It can always get stressful, either be it at work or at school. Aside from binging your favorite series or your favorite food, a good collection of music helps to. So that’s why we’ve listed down some OPM gems that can help you relieve that stress with their downright great music.

Better Days

Perfect and staying true to their name, Better Days revitalizes you for another day. Their feel-good tunes, ranging from R&B to rock, they offer a variety of songs that fit any day of the week. It’s like they’re telling you to hold on because things will get better.

They haven’t released any new songs for the year. But their EP ‘Nararamdaman’ still holds their best songs so far. Better stream it to see what they have in store for you!

Carousel Casualties

‘San Junipero’ and ‘Margarita‘ hitmaker Carousel Casualties is another dandy band bringing amazing tunes. Known for their bolstering upbeat sound, they create unique music that’s rarely encountered in the local scene. Their mixin’ and matchin’ of pop-rock and a bit of jazz overtones surely gets us every single time.

Their latest single, ‘Brooklyn‘ just dropped a few days ago. It’s one a few songs where the band went mellow. Perfect for hopeless romantics. But despite the positive yet heartbreaking effect it has, it will have you feeling optimistic about the days to come.

Where’s Ramona?

This four-piece alternative pop-punk band will surely capture your hearts. Where’s Ramona? is known for their heartfelt songs that put you in trance. Even if their songs sound sad at first, it’s nothing but romantic. And for what it’s worth, you can definitely enjoy your bus rides and commute trips with their varied tunes.

They released an album earlier this year called ‘The Reckless Romantic‘. And boy, oh boy, us romantics would surely find ourselves indulging every trickling bittersweet word they have. Especially ‘Together Soon’.

Southern Lights

Bringing the best tunes from the south, Southern Lights shows off their strong alternative rock roots. Heavily influenced by fan favorites like Mayonnaise, Hale, Kamikazee, Mayday Parade, and Foo Fighters, they deliver cutting-edge alt-rock.

They’re currently working on their first full-length album, ‘Crossroads’, as of now. But they’ve released a few of their songs that will surely energize you after a long day of hard work.

Halina

And last but definitely not least, the baroque pop band Halina showcases a newfound glory through a unique sound. Coning their sound as baroque pop, it’s a concoction of modern tunes wrapped in classic overtones. It’s nothing but a treat for people looking for relaxing music to chill with.

‘Ukay Bilis’ by Halina captures a love story that blossomed through the mundanities of life. It paints a vivid picture of how romance is that everyone can surely relate. You can stream it on Spotify!

Truly, OPM has grown into something vast and beautiful over the past couple of years. And they’ve developed more than one way to capture everyone’s heart!
