If you’ve loved the action role-playing game and the novels, then you’d surely love the upcoming Netflix series. ‘The Witcher’ will be dropping at the streaming platform Netflix, this later 2019. Starring Henry Cavill as the monster slayer Geralt, it will come as an eight-episode TV drama. Here’s the poster for the upcoming Netflix adaptation of ‘The Witcher’.

The Witcher

Netflix’s ‘The Witcher‘ will follow the story Geralt of Rivia, a lone monster hunter who embarks on a journey the Continent, along with a sorceress and a princess. The story takes place in a medieval fantasy world where the world is populated by different races and of course, magic and supernatural powers and entities. Despite it being a fantasy novel, there is moral and intellectual depth in the novels that will be present in the tv series too. Thanks to Netflix producer and showrunner, Lauren Hissrich.

Aside from Henry Cavill playing the lead role, newcomers Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan will be joining him as well. Anya Chalotra will be playing as Yennefer of Vengerberg, a sorceress and the “soul mate” of Geralt. While Freya Allan will be taking on the role of the Ciri, the princess of Cintra and the adopted daughter of Geral and Yennefer. In the original storyline, the three of them goes on a journey across the unnamed Continent.

Production for the upcoming American-Polish fantasy drama TV series has been underway. And so far, most of the filming is almost done. Though major filming has been reportedly done, they’ve been doing some reshoots after recasting major characters. No further details yet about the said recasting.
