GAMES: MATUMBAMAN benched for EPICENTER Major

June 14, 2019 Victoria Luz

Just a few days before the EPICENTER Major, Team Liquid announces star mid player, MATUMBAMAN will be moving out of the active roster.

With only 10 days until the Epicenter Major, former TI champions, Team Liquid, makes a crucial decision for the team. Surprisingly, they announced a change in their starting line up. And that’s Lasse “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen moving out of their active roster.

MATUMBAMAN is one of the key players of Team Liquid for almost two seasons. He made a name himself last 2014 during his time with team Veni, Vidi, Vici. This brought him a lot of opportunities in his impending successful Dota career. Eventually, he was acquired by Team Liquid in 2016. Since then, he’s been one of the most renown players in the world.

Much to everyone’s surprise, Team Liquid decided to bench out one of their star players. In the past 3 years, Team Liquid’s lineup has been immovable and irreplaceable. Their’s was the longest standing line-up in the Dota 2 history. It goes to show how strong their friendship and chemistry as a team.

According to Team Liquid’s statement, it was a mutual decision between the organization and MATU himself. Indeed, it was quite a shocker to see one of the best players ever in Team Liquid be benched. However, MATU will use this time to seek other ideal opportunities under Team Liquid.

So far, there are no details yet on who will fill in the big shoes of MATU. But Liquid already has set their eyes on a player who will be joining the team for Epicenter Major. Rest assured that the rest of the team, KuroKy, Miracle-, GH, -MinD_ContRoL and coach rmN- will be doing their best, alongside with the new addition to the roster.

What can you say about MATUMBAMAN’s depature from Team Liquid’s active roster? Excited to see who will be playing for Team Liquid this coming Epicenter Major? Share us your thoughts on the comments down below. Or hit us up on our Facebook or Twitter @UDoUPh.
