FEATURES: The Lion King Trailer is finally here!

Disney babies, rejoice! The Lion King live action drops its trailer and shows our reimagined childhood favorite.

To hype up another Disney classic revamp, Disney drops the first full-length trailer of ‘The Lion King’. The upcoming live-action reboot for it shows a star-studded cast set to hit box office records. And at the same time, the trailer gives us the new look of the tale of the circle of life.

In the official trailer, it showed the new version of Lion King, brought to life by CGI. And in all honesty, it was nothing but an aesthetically pleasing masterpiece. It seemed to be like footage straight out from the reality of National Geographic. From the sunset-daze, the landscape and scenery to the animals and critters of the wild. It showed every remarkable scene in the 1994 version. But what really caught our eyes is the montage of Simba  (Donald Glover) growing up with Timon (Billy Eichner) and Pumba (Seth Rogen). And of course, the wildebeest stampede that triggered a change in the Pride Lands.

Indeed, the trailer showed how realistic the movie is, even with altering how the infamous villain Scar (Chiwetel Ejiofor) looked like. Back in the 1994 animated film, Scar looked like the usual comical evil-looking villain. Long, thick black mane, yellow-green piercing eyes and his signature goatee of some sorts. Of course, partnered with the ominous green-fog every dramatic entrance. However, in the new version of director Jon Favreau, Scar looks a bit scrawny and gawky, with his unkempt fur and a clipped ear. Which, honestly, made him lose that taut proud appearance he had. But it made it realistic enough to justify his reasons for being evil.

Joining the cast are none other than legend James Earl Jones, Beyoncé, John Kani, Alfre Woodard, and John Oliver. Jones will once again voice Mufasa while Beyoncé will voice Nala. The Lion King premieres on July 19, 2019.
