Take your chances and go all in with ‘Riverdale’ star KJ Apa in ‘The Last Summer’!
KJ Apa proves to us that he is more than just Archie Andrews! The star we loved in ‘Riverdale‘ is out to play Griffin in the Netflix original titled ‘The Last Summer’. Something tells us we’re in for the best summer ever! You can watch the official trailer right here!
It was announced in January last year the KJ will lead the romantic comedy film to be directed by William Bindley. He will act alongside his love interest to be played by Maia Mitchell, and his two friends portrayed by Halton Sage and Jacob Latimore. If that casting wasn’t breathtaking enough to look at, the film also casts Tyler Posey.
Back to high school, we go!
‘The Last Summer’ takes us back to the last summer of high school, where we have to make the most of the time we have left before entering college. From the trailer, we can see that it immediately opened with Griffin asking Phoebe to hang out. This already tells us that this is going to be a romantic film about two high school students. But then, Erin and Alec were introduced, too, and suddenly it’s about four friends having to take all their chances for their last summer in high school. What’s there to lose anyway? It is revealed towards the end of the trailer that they will have a conflict because of these chances they were taking. Turns out, there would be something to lose, after all.
We are amazed at how movies portray high school students. Aren’t you? They cast KJ, and Maia, and all these amazing looking actors and I’m pretty sure that was not how people in my high school looked like. Everybody had oily faces and was struggling with the inevitable stage of puberty (lol)! We’re not complaining, though. We already know the cast is going to do well in telling us their story! The movie will be released on May 3, so prepare yourselves!
‘The Last Summer’ might be the feel-good flick we need for this hot summer! Are you excited to see the film? We are, too! Share us your thoughts the comments down below. Or hit us up on our Facebook or Twitter @UDoUPh.
