Founding member of the iconic band True Faith, Ferdie Marquez passes away.
Last Sunday, March 31, unfortunate news dawns the local music community. Ferdie Marquez, one of the original and founding members of the band True Faith passes away. It was confirmed on the band’s official Facebook page on that same day.
It is with a heavy heart that I share the sad news of (Truefaith original member) Ferdie Marquez’s passing.
Ferdz formed #Truefaith with me and Francis Guevarra back in 1992. He was a very talented, gifted musician and a caring friend.
Our most sincerest condolences to Tita Connie and family.
RIP Ferdz. Thank you for sharing your great talent and music with everyone.
Medwin Marfil, one of the members of the band, expressed their deepest condolences with the loss of Ferdie. He described Ferdie as “very talented, gifted musician and a caring friend,” who helped him build True Faith way back in 1992.
As of now, the family of Ferdie did not release any details about his death. Despite the lack of information on what caused the death, fans are empathetic, not only to the family but also to the band.
True Faith has been part of the rich OPM music from the ’90s until today. Not to mention, they’ve been the inspiration of a lot of rising bands today. They’re known for their hit songs ‘Huwag Na Lang Kaya’, ‘Alaala’, and ‘Kung Okay Lang Sa ‘Yo’. Also, the band even had a collaboration with American rock collective MGMT back in 2018.
Another great name from the local music industry has passed. Do you still listen to True Faith? Share us your thoughts on the comments down below. Or hit us up on our Facebook or Twitter @UDoUPh.
