Even after trying to find a sufficient replacement for their previous carry, OG’s still left out in the dust. But seems like Lady Luck is with them as Ana returns to OG, once and for all!
No doubt, the 2018 – 2019 DPC season has been hard for the previous TI8 champions, OG. Not only did they have their carry, Anathan “ana” Pham, but they also have to find someone else to fill in his big shoes. And it was indeed hard to task to replace ana with all the expectations burdening the carry position.
Ana has proven himself, time and time again, to be one of the best carries. Back during the 2016 – 2017 DPC season, he helped OG become a double Major champion before taking a break after TI7. And on his second stint, just right before TI8, he came back to make a Cinderella run with the team. And now he’s back again to help OG realize their dream.
Just recently, OG parted ways with Igor “iLTW” Filatov after still not meeting the results they aim. iLTW was OG’s second attempt in replacing ana after his TI8 break. Apparently, got produced positive results with iLTW. However, it was not enough for the team to qualify to the Stockholm Major and win or place in the previous Minors. Before iLTW, OG has Per Anders Olsson “Pajkatt” Lille to stand-in. Unfortunately, Pajkatt lack chemistry with the team, thus, resulting in dropping quickly out from the OG lineup.
Despite the team performing well with iLTW, they missed out a lot of chances to win and rack some DPC points. But still, the team were grateful for iLTW’s stay with them. The CIS player brought more experience for both parties. So far, the team is nowhere near the top 12 teams in the DPC rankings. But now that ana is back, OG is at their 100% strength once again.
Unfortunately, you won’t be seeing a full-throttle action with the TI8 OG lineup just yet. However, OG will be back at the end of this month to participate in the regional qualifiers of MDL Paris Major.
