My heart is broken ….There are so many special moments in life that we all take for granted …like @madchenamick pulling out her phone and taking this sweet and silly ‘selfie’ of us all. We assume that the #laughter will last or that they’ll be another time to tell someone just how important they are to you ….#lukeperry was of the most kind and gentle souls this world has ever been given …. a true gift and I’m deeply grateful and will forever cherish the time we shared …..the friendship , the talks about our kids and politics and directing and tennis and wrestling. I love you Luke and you will always hold a special place in my heart. I miss you already 😢🙏❤️#riverdalefamily #riverdalestrong

Luke Perry’s Career

Luke Perry most recently played the role of Fred Andrews in the CW series ‘Riverdale’. Although he was most popular for his role as Dylan McKay,  heartthrob, in ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’. I don’t know about yours but I’m pretty sure my mom told me that Luke was one of his high school crushes. Fans even labeled him the ‘James Dean of his era’, a comparison he did not like back then.

“If they made the association strong enough, I’d have to pay the price for the fact that he checked out early.”

Clearly, he did not want the pressure of having to put up to someone else’s image. He wanted people to know him for who he was.

It looked like acting has always been his dream as he auditioned for 265 roles before actually landing his first project, and for that passion, I think we can all agree that he deserves to be remembered.

Co-actors shared that they often come to Luke for advice, both about acting and about life. They also cited him as loving, generous, and wise.

Life Goals

In a 1992 interview for NBC, Luke reflected on what he wants to achieve as far as his career was concerned. He was asked about what legacy he wanted to have. To this he answered:

“When my time here is up, I don’t want to look back and see that I haven’t done anything, or had an effect on anything. I see a lot of people let their life happen to them. And I want to happen to my life, I don’t want my life to happen to me.”

I think this is one powerful message for anyone who wants to take on a certain path in life, and he sure achieved this goal.

We truly lost such a remarkable actor. But Luke Perry will always live on. What show will you remember him with the most? Tell us in the comment section below! You can also hit us up on our Facebook or Twitter @UDoUPh.
