Team Liquid is back in action again after they win the championship title at MDL Macau 2019!

Last February 24, Team Liquid defeated their contender for the championship, Evil Geniuses. But despite the advances of EG to rise at the occasion, Liquid’s superior plays and techniques prevailed. To which they owned the MDL Macau 2019 championship and the prize money $135,000 USD.

Team Liquid’s MDL Macau Championship Run

Liquid just got back their carry player, Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi, after taking a break to get back into tip-top shape. His overall performance during the tournament was overwhelming. Miracle-, no doubt, is one of the vital factors of Team Liquid’s success in MDL Macau 2019. And for his team that is made up of the top players in Europe, they were unstoppable. As early as the group stages, Team Liquid showed their relentlessness. They did drop a few games during the Playoffs however, they still dominated Royal Never Give Up and Evil Geniuses. On the other hand, EG got knocked down at the Lower Bracket after losing to Liquid. But they were able to win against CIS region’s powerhouse, Virtus.pro, securing their slot in the Grand Finals.

During the Grand Finals, it seems that Liquid was all warmed up. In Game 1, Liquid stomped and crushed EG with a Phantom Assassin carry from Miracle-. Liquid closed the game with only 23 minutes in. It was the Miracle- show, displaying his 22 minute Phantom Assassin with a Satanic, Battle Fury and Desolator and a 19-0-6 K/D/A. Game 2 also lasted for only 20 minutes in, with a dominating early laning stage from Liquid. But EG was able to make their comeback during Game 3. But despite the hope of tying the series, Liquid took Game 4 with Kuro “KuroKy” Takhasomi’s amazing drafting skills. Liquid ended the series with 3 – 1 and took another championship title for themselves.

Furthermore, Team Liquid will be back to participate at the Stockholm Major, among other teams like Evil Geniuses and Virtus.pro. The previous TI champions have already secured some DPC points to get a direct invite in the next The International. But we will still be seeing more of them before the dreaded league.
