LATEST DROP: Kuwento Ng Pag-Ibig by Pusakalye

February 15, 2019 Feather Casilan

Can you still feel the love in the air? Because I still can! But hold on, we’ve got something better than flowers and chocolates. Kuwento Ng Pag-ibig is out now!

I first heard of the ‘Kuwento Ng Pag-ibig’ by Pusakalye back in December 2018. I wouldn’t be able to forget that song because when they sang it at Skinny Mike’s, they were singing it during a proposal. It was a truly beautiful moment that can’t be forgotten. And finally, the single is released!

We’re all used to Pusakalye and their heartbreaking songs. But this time, for the month of love, the band is patching up hearts.

Midnight of February 14, OPM fanatics truly had a very great hello to Valentine’s Day as a lot of our favorite bands released a new single. Of course, this includes Pusakalye’s ‘Kuwento ng Pag-ibig’.

Na sana’y hahayaan mong
isilong ka sa’king pagmamahal
na kahit umulan
kailanman ay
hindi ka iiwanan

The single is such a pure beautiful song. The persona is asking for the girl’s hand, opening his heart out and emotions in such a naked and genuine way. The way it was being sung and how the music would serenade you is truly captivating.

‘Kuwento ng Pag-ibig’ kind of reminds me of ‘Panalangin’ because of the sincerity etched in every word of the song. Not only that but how you could really feel the love pouring out of the music. This song playing live during a marriage proposal is just very magical.

Bulaklak kong marikit
ang kuwento ng pag-ibig ko sa’yo’y
inukit sa isang tula
at nilapatan ko ng himig

Another reason why this song got me in a trance because of the great composition. Very deep, very Filipino, very makata. Which for me, makes it extra sweeter. It really is a poem given life by music.

Add this song to your Valentine’s Day playlist now!
