Di na muling luluha
Di na pipilitin pang
Ikaw ay aking ibigin
Hanggang sa walang hanggan
Okay, heartbroken peeps out there. This new single is definitely for you. No date on Valentine’s Day? Or worse, your heart is breaking? Well, December Avenue’s ‘Dahan’ will keep you company this season of love with its painful lyrics.
Most of us, if not all, really do our best to keep our promises intact. No matter the pain or the struggles, we try to hold on to the words we’ve uttered. There are times when you promise to love someone up until the end. But sometimes, life can really get in the way of fulfilling such oaths.
Dahan dahan mong bitawan
Puso kong di makalaban
Dahil minsan mong iniwan
Labis na nahihirapan
And despite the strong urge to continue the fight, there’s no sense anymore if the person you’re fighting for in the first place is the source of your pain. By the end of it all, you just merely ask them to slowly let you go themselves because your heart couldn’t do it.
It may be a happy Valentine’s because of all these new releases. But of course, our favorite OPM bands would break our hearts lol! ‘Dahan’ by December Avenue can serve as a reminder that despite your vows, you’re not entitled to continue the journey if there’s nothing left to fight for anymore.
