February 8, 2019 UDOU Team

StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor starts off with the regional qualifiers with the schedules and invites set!

In case you missed it, The Stockholm Major regional closed qualifiers have ended. With the conclusion of the qualifiers, StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor kicks off their qualifiers as well. Starladder and ImbaTV’s Minor will be happening just a few days before The Stockholm Major in Sweden.

StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor will be StarLadder and ImbaTV’s first Minor in the 2018-2019 DPC Season. It will feature 8 teams from regional qualifiers. And of course, they will take on each other for the share of the $300,000 USD prize pool. Aside from that, teams will also receive respective DPC points depending on their overall ranking for the Minor. The tournament will be hosted on March 7 – 10, 2019 at the Cybersports Arena, Kiev, Ukraine.

The closed qualifiers will kick off on February 9 – 13, 2019. So far, they have released a few of the invited teams for the closed qualifiers. For China, Vici Gaming, Aster and Royal Never Give-up will participate. BOOM-ID and Lotac for Southeast Asia. For South America, it will be rei do picole and Thunder Predator. There will be just 1 slot available for North America, South America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. While on the other hand, CIS and China will have 2 available spots for the main event.

As of now, the open qualifiers are happening in all six regions. The open qualifiers will be in a single elimination format. Which means, teams only have one chance and if they screw up, it will be the end of their StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor run.

Aside from winning a share from the prize pool and the DPC points, the grand winner will also earn a spot at The Stockholm Major.
