ENCORE FEATURE: Alex Gaskarth and Mark Hoppus’ new band Simple Creatures

January 29, 2019 Victoria Luz

Making the most of their downtime, Alex Gaskarth and Mark Hoppus’ new band Simple Creatures is out making music.

From our favorite pop-punk bands of all time, a two-man band was formed. Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus and All Time Low frontman Alex Gaskarth have launched their new band, Simple Creatures. Since their respective bands are still in downtime with their own tours, they launched a new band to create new music.

Simple Creatures

The duo surprised their fans with the launch of Simple Creatures. Alex Gaskarth has previously announced that All Time Low will be taking a break for 2019. The two have been long-time friends. And so, with their free time in their hands, the Simple Creatures is born. And this is definitely a super duo of our favorite band icons.

According to Hoppus, he and Gaskarth are both deeply sad people on the inside. In a likely manner, the grit, tone, and edge of the music Simple Creatures is aiming is different from All Time Low and Blink-182. So Gaskarth mentioned that Simple Creatures will lean on more dark pop, goth or emo type of pop-punk. Which of course, seems interesting as both Hoppus and Gaskarth’s band has different music repertoire in the first place. But we can still expect the catchy and upbeat pop-punk music we always loved from them. They might be starting a brand new music but you can definitely expect they won’t be straying too far from the things we loved from them!

And with the launch of Simple Creatures, they’ve also released their first single, ‘Drug’. You can check it out in all digital music platforms. Aside from that, you can expect that they will be releasing an EP soon.
