GAMES: Cignal Ultra wins MPL-PH Season 2

January 15, 2019 Victoria Luz

With an unexpected turn of events, Cignal Ultra wins MPL-PH Season 2!

Last January 12 and 13, the Mobile Legends Bang Bang: Professional League – PH Season 2 commenced. Mobile Legends fans filled the Ayala Malls Circuit Makati for the Season 2 tournament. Aside from seeing their favorite MB streamers and casters, they were also able to see their favorite teams. But what really took away the spotlight was the unpredictable victory of Cignal Ultra against Bren Esports during the grand finals.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang PH

It was a neck-to-neck battle again between Cignal Ultra and Bren Esports in MPL-PH Season 2 Grand Finals. For every Mobile Legends tournament for the past few months, it’s always the two teams who face each other in the finals. And it was Bren Esports who always win. And that was the expected result by the majority of the fans and audience. But for MPL-PH Season 2, it seems Lady Luck was on Cignal Ultra’s side!

The Grand Finals was a best-of-five series. Cignal Ultra lost Game 1 to Bren Esports but they were able to tie it on Game 2. However, what shocked everyone was when Cignal Ultra sweeps 2 consecutive wins under Bren Esports’ feet! The series ended with a 3-1. And as a team always behind Bren Esports before, the upset that they caused to the reigning champs was quite a feat. They were able to stop the winning streak of Bren Esports and came out as champions for this tournament.

It was indeed a satisfying win for Cignal Ultra. They really outdid their selves in this tournament. As MPL-PH Season 2 Champions, they took home $33,000 and a trophy for their well-deserved victory. Bren Esports did their best in the tournament but came up short this time. But we can expect that these two teams would be giving us amazing games in the future.
