January 15, 2019 UDOU Team

Breakouts are never a good thing. At all costs, we do our best to avoid having them but sometimes they still find a way to pop on our skin. So we’ve listed down Acne Home Remedies to help you guys out!

Is it zit city on your face rn?  Tell me about it *rolls eyes*. Having breakouts is such a bummer, we need to care better for our skin to remove them and/or avoid them but sometimes skin care products can be a little too harsh and can be a tad expensive. Fortunately, there are acne home remedies that are gentle on our skin and are very much affordable. Here are some.

Agein

Apple Cider Vinegar

Longevity Live

Apple Cider has organic acids that help kill bacteria causing acne called Propionibacterium acnes or P. acnes. It also dries up a pimple and lessens scarring through “chemical peeling”.

How to apply:

Mix one tablespoon of apple cider with 3 tablespoons of water. Use cotton to apply on face. Let it sit for 20 seconds then rinse. Do this 2 times a day.

Toothpaste

Global Health NOW

Toothpaste, when applied on the face, acts as a face mask. It absorbs excess oils and dries up pimples but remember not to use gel type toothpaste or those with a whitening property on your face because these may damage your skin.

How to apply:

Apply an ice pack on the face to soothe the pores. After that apply small amounts of toothpaste on affected areas and leave it there for 30 mins. Then rinse and pat dry.

Aloe Vera

Healthline

The gel inside an aloe vera leaf contains salicylic acid and sulfur. These components help reduce acne on skin.

How to apply:

Get a sufficient amount of aloe vera gel and massage on the face like a moisturizer. Leave on face till it dries. Do this twice a day or more (depending on your preference).

Aspirin

The Telegraph

Like aloe, aspirin contains salicylic acid that is perfect for fighting off pimples. It dries the infected area and reduces inflammation.

How to apply:

Pulverize aspirin and mix it with a small amount of water until it creates a paste-like consistency. Apply on pimples and leave it on overnight.

Honey

Medical News Today

Raw honey is the main component of many acne creams and solutions because it has antibacterial properties. It is perfect for killing germs inside and outside of the skin.

How to apply:

You can actually mix honey with different ingredients for better results. You can mix it with baking powder, turmeric, cinnamon, and more.

Honey with baking powder:

Mix 2 tablespoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of baking powder together and scrub on infected area in a circular motion for 5 mins and then rinse it.

Honey with turmeric:

Mix one tablespoon of honey and a pinch of turmeric. Apply on acne, leave in on for 20 mins, and then rinse with warm water.

Honey with cinnamon:

Mix 2 teaspoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder. Apply on face like a face mask, leave it on for 15 mins, then rinse.

Having acne is extremely frustrating and it can be difficult to find the anti-acne product in the market that is compatible with your skin type. Using natural or organic solutions from home is never a bad idea. Just make sure you are well informed of how to go about it.
