Are you ready for more adventures? Coz Stranger Things is back for Season 3! We’re going back to Hawkins, people, 1985-style.

Way to start the year right, Netflix! As we welcome 2019, Netflix released the much-awaited trailer of Stranger Things Season 3. And you bet that the new season will be stranger than the previous ones. It will be released on July 4, 2019, so you better get ready!

The new season is set in the summer of 1985, a year after rescuing Will (Noah Schnapp). If you still haven’t seen the trailer, then you better check it out below. Indulge yourself with the upcoming strangeness to come!

Hawkins Summer of 1985

The trailer shows footage of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve back in 1985. Somehow, a local TV station in Hawkins, Indiana is broadcasting the countdown. During the coverage, a hacker of some sorts interrupts the countdown. The black screen flashes random green characters. There highlighted words among them and revealed a cryptic message that says, “WHEN BLUE AND YELLOW MEET IN THE WEST”.

Aside from that, another interruption occurs. It shows computer codes that seem to be trying to start a program or software. What took my attention among them were “Welcome to Lynx Corp.” and “Run program SilverCatFeeds.exe”.

After that, the screen goes back to the countdown but this time, the video turns UPSIDE DOWN. You can hear Mike (Finn Wolfhard) shouting “Eleven” as the countdown starts. Then, the screen loses the signal and goes to an upside down version of the fireworks display. Then it goes back to the computer screen again that reads “ONE SUMMER CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING”. And I am stoked, people.

Summer 1985 is the time where Back to the Future goes large. So we might be seeing a lot of movie references and pop culture for Season 3. Another thing is that our ships might possibly sail this time. After Season 2, we know that Mike and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) are showing romantic feelings for each other, same goes for Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and Max (Sadie Sink).

Bet that on the Fourth of July, you’ll be at home waiting for the release of the new season on Netflix. Coz I know, I will!
