In our last article about tattoos, we focused on the male Filipino artists and the masterpieces on their body. But the dudes aren’t the only ones who have the guts to brave the needles of tattooing. So without further ado, we present to you the hottest tatted up Filipino artists female category!
That’s right. Ladies get to express through permanent markings on their body too! Some may ask “How can they handle the pain?” and to that, we say “Women were made with the ability to give birth. Go figure”. Kidding, we are made equal and what the boys can do, ladies can handle too! So let us present to you the gorgeous tatted up Filipina artists.
Rhian Ramos is a stunning Filipina actress, singer, and model. She’s well known for her roles in GMA Shows such as Captain Barbell, The Rich Man’s Daughter, and Stairway to Heaven. Her tattoos were from the oldest mambabatok (traditional Kalinga tattooist), Whang-od Oggay. The talented artist’s tattoos are designed by her, they are the hawk and the scorpion. She said that she loves the energy of both that is why she had them tattooed on her hip.
Daughter of the late King of Philippine movies, Fernando Poe Jr., Lourdes Virginia “Lovi” Poe made her mark in the world of show business as well. Back in 2010, she was awarded Best Actress in both Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival and FAMAS. She has a tattoo on both sides of her rib cage “My Gravity” and “My Wings” in honor of her father.
Tuesday Vargas, a well-known Filipina comedian/singer, shocked the country earlier this year when she debuted her new look in an Instagram photo. The artist was seen in a black top with a purple pixie cut hair-do and an arm full of tattoos. She was then known as a girly and giggly actress that is why this was a deal for her followers. But I guess she just wanted to show her real (or new) persona that is okay on our book.
Glaiza de Castro
Glaiza de Castro is a talented actress and singer. You may know her from her roles in GMA’s TV series The Rich Man’s daughter and the remake of the phenomenal show ‘Engkantadya’. She has a tattoo of a Japanese character on her wrist which her brother has too. She said that these represent the permanent place of themselves as siblings in each other’s life.
A model, TV host, and actress, Solenn Heussaff has her own fair share of body art. She has a rosary around her ankle and the Virgin Mary’s face on the side of her ribcage. This goes to show the religious side of the beautiful Filipina talent.
Zsa Zsa Padilla
The Philippine’s Divine Diva, Zsa Zsa Padilla is one of the best singers in the OPM industry. She’s also a veteran actress, one of her most recent roles is Helena Montoya in the hit TV show ‘Wildflower’. She was married to the late Philippine’s King of Comedy, Rodolfo Vera Quizon Sr. a.k.a Dolphy. The OPM pillar had the word “Lovey” tattooed on her wrist based on Dolphy’s penmanship so that she may never forget the love of her life.
It is indeed magnificent the stories behind these artists tattoos. Kudos to these women for braving the needle and expressing themselves through body art!
