October 17, 2018 UDOU TEAM
Tiny Apartment by Ciudad is your perfect mellow weekend jam!
Get yourself some iced tea and cozy up on your sofa ’cause Tiny Apartment by Ciudad is the tune to relax and enjoy the weekends with. Ciudad’s style dips more on the retro feel, cradling us to our comfort.
Last Friday (October 12), Ciudad hosted a Single Release Party at 123 Block in Mandaluyong alongside other OPM Bands such as Boldstar, Hannah + Gabi & The Boy CriedFolk, and we found a video of their performance here just for you!
It’s been a while since we heard back from this band, and we really hope they’re back for good! And yes, the last pieces we heard from them were only from earlier this year. But before those, it’s been years since we heard back from ’em.
Ciudad’s last album was ‘Follow The Leader’ last 2012 with ‘Due Dates’ as its most popular song.
While recently, they’ve been giving us track after track, adding their merry melodies to our wistful weekends.
Caught Me At The Worst Time – November, 2017
Get You Closer – February. 2018
But before this post turns into a full-on Ciudad playlist, let’s talk more about the band.
Proclaimed as ‘geek rock’ or ‘nerd pop’ by fans and media, they have quite an unusual take on their musical pieces. Perhaps this is because the band started as a school project, but also because they make
a combination of schoolboy rock, slacker pop, and a dose of punk—all framed by catchy melodies.
Seven albums and
two three singles later, the band still makes us feel those fresh Sunday morning vibes with their friendly tunes.
And with how some days just feel so busy and hectic, sometimes all we really need are the music of Ciudad on our earphones. We’re definitely gad that they’re back!
Want to hear more from the band? Listen to Tiny Apartment and as well as Ciudad’s collection of songs on Spotify!
How about you guys? How do you like Tiny Apartment by Ciudad? Does its nostalgic melody take you back to the days when things were easier? Or perhaps it even takes you back to the memories of your first apartment—your tiny apartment.
