LATEST DROP: Moonstar88 New Song – Sorry
October 11, 2018 Feather Casilan
A Moonstar88 new song just dropped! And the band is back singing about unrequited love. Hear their latest track called ‘Sorry’ right now!
You’ve most likely heard (and even memorized) their songs ‘Torete’ and ‘Migraine’. These are amongst their famous songs known, mostly because of their emotional, heartfelt, and relatable #HUGOT lyrics.
The well-known Filipino band recently released a new song, entitled ‘Sorry’ written by Glenn Jacinto and produced by Warner Music Philippines. And we have a fan-made lyric video for it right here!
In the beginning of the song, Maychelle Baay’s soft voice captures your ears and captivates them with the lyrics’s story. Feels a little bit like her renditions of ‘Torete’ and ‘Migraine,’ right?
We think ‘Sorry’ is very relatable, especially with the hopeless romantics! Failing in love is a favorite topic amongst Filipino listeners, after all.
And in this song in particular, you’d hear of a story of a someone that was led on by the person they were dating. #PAASA #WASAK
And if you listen to the lyrics intently, you’d hear the story of someone who #assumed things and feelings that were not even there. Talk about false hope about something you thought would eventually lead to something more.
This Moonstar88 new song showcased once again how the band reveals stories to their listeners, showing us a heartbroken girl who was blinded by her emotions. Oh, the pitfalls of believing someone’s empty promises! In the end, the song’s heroine regretted believing that what she felt was reciprocated, and hated all the time she wasted being a fool. #HUGOT
But as you’d catch the chorus, the character in the song redeems herself by keeping her ground, being strong and finally being able to let go.
And we think that that’s the band’s message for all the listeners. It’s an unfortunate situation, but it’s amazing when you finally see your own worth, and get back up on your feet.
And listening intently, you’d know that apology—that sorry— etched in the song is sarcastic to say the least. You go girl!
We’re sure you’re dying to add this to your playlist. So here’s ‘Sorry’ on Spotify!
