RECAP: All The Way Up’s First Elimination Round
August 7, 2018 UDOU TEAM
After rigorous planning and much anticipation, All The Way Up Dance Competition finally kicked-off last August 4 with it’s first round. And let me tell you, it was awesome.
The newest, hottest, and most competitive dance contest by AfterParty and RockWell “All The Way Up Dance Competition 2018” started this Saturday August 4 with its first elimination round, with 18 crews battling it out for a chance to get a spot for the Grand Finals to be held at Meralco Theatre this coming October 21.
18 crews from different parts of the Philippines had come to the event, it was a surprise that URBN QC can accommodate the number of people who also went to the event—families and friends of the crews.
The event started fresh with AfterParty’s very own Victor Pring hosting and leading the ceremony and hyping up the teams as they go head-to-head for the next coming minutes as he introduce 3 top-notch judges: KenJhons Serrano, Rojean Delos Reyes and RockWell’s own Rhemuel Lunio.
2018’s Dance Star World Champion, Rock*Well warmed up the stage with a magnetizing performance, they truly showed how world champions move.
All the crews routines was electrifying as they move together as one unit, performing their best as they sweat it out doing aerials and and death-defying maneuvers. The show was pure back-to-back action as you hold your breath for every crew who is performing on stage.
During the break, KenJhons performed his newly-released single “Hindi Kita Baby” which fired-up the crowd and the dancers alike as they joined him perform live. Hell, even Victor Pring danced to KenJhons song.
After a staggering performance by KenJhons, the crowd pressured and chants Rock*Well’s very own and 2018’s Dance Star Best Male Performer, Mannex Manhattan to dance on stage. Surprisingly enough, he didn’t disappoint the crowd with his flickering moves as he showed why he is the best male dance performer in the world right now.
Moving Up To The Grand Finals
After a great show by the crews and judges alike, it was time to announce the winner. You could hear the room go silent as everyone is nervous, hoping and praying that their routine wowed the judges and the audiences at the same time.
The crowd roared with cheers as Victor announces the winners one-by-one who’ll be moving up to the grand finals. Even if some didn’t won, you could see it in their faces that they were still glad that they got to join the contest and became a part of something great.
