The 25-year-old Pop singer Demi Lovato was reportedly found unconscious at her home in Hollywood Hills last Tuesday. This was said to be due to an apparent overdose of heroin, but the news was later contradicted. Los Angeles Police responded to the scene and treated her with naloxene. Lovato was admitted at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. and word of her consciousness had already been confirmed by a family spokesperson.
News of the singer’s relapse had been spreading for a while now. The documentary Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated was released last year to accompany her sixth studio album. Here, her struggles with mental illness and addiction is described in full detail. In the documentary’s trailer, Lovato speaks on how she can openly talk of her condition.
“One thing I’ll never stop doing is being honest. That’s the best I can do.”
Earlier this year, the former Disney Channel star continues to keep her word on honesty with her single Sober. The release of the track followed what was said to be her six years of sobriety last March. The song’s lyrics go as:
“I’m sorry that I’m here again,
I promise I’ll get help
It wasn’t my intention,
I’m sorry to myself.”
Lovato’s overdose followed her recent firing of sober coach, Mike Bayer. According to sources of Us, Demi’s tweet “Good luck on your blog.” was meant for him which gave speculations that two must’ve been unable to end in good terms. Still, even with the absence of one significant person in her struggles, the singer has the support of other celebrities in the industry. The #PrayForDemi even circulated online following reports of the incident.

Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez may have grown apart, but everyone including them is convinced that their bond is something that’ll stay. Lovato’s former Princess Protection Program co-star is deeply saddened by the news.
Aside from Gomez, Demi Lovato has another Disney family to receive love and support from. The Jonas brothers, her former Camp Rock co-stars, tweeted their reaction to Demi’s current condition. All of them, including former beau Joe Jonas whom she had been in good terms throughout the years even after their split, expressed their support.

Another evident show of support came from another ex Wilmer Valderrama who was ‘devastated’ by the singer’s hospitalization.
Despite their split last June 2016, Valderrama quickly rushed to Lovato’s side at the hospital last Wednesday. Valderrama still deeply cares for his ex and seeing her in this condition is a really hard blow for him.
Demi Lovato may had been struggling for years, but her being bold and brave to still be able to face her demons shows her capacity to be a strong person despite her condition. Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family. Her struggles may be difficult, but she’s clearly more than any of them combined.
