Agsunta Covers That You Have To Listen Now

July 26, 2018 UDOU TEAM

Agsunta is probably one of the biggest bands in the Philippines nowadays. This talented band started from their #AgsuntaSongRequests and #AgsuntaJamSessions video series on YouTube, until they eventually released original songs.

Agsunta covers seriously gave a different life to hit OPM songs in a snap. And if you don’t believe me, give these Agsunta covers a listen:

Sana – I Belong To The Zoo

I Belong To The Zoo’s Sana is such a tearjerker song, and Agsunta was able to cover the same emotions that Kuya Argee has when singing the track. Tawag ng Tanghalan alumnus Nef Medina also joined them as a guest. Originally sang solo, Agsunta was able to turn this track into a band song. (And they have a paragraph of hugot in the description that a lot of millennials can relate to.)

Ikaw Pa Rin – Letter Day Story

Letter Day Story’s Ikaw Pa Rin is one of those throwback songs that you don’t realize you still know every word to, until you hear it again. Agsunta covers it in a slow, melancholic voice, and you can just feel the sentimental vibes this song intends to give.

Synesthesia – Mayonnaise

Synesthesia is probably one of my fave songs from Mayonnaise—it’s just too romantic and sweet. Mayonnaise’s version is purely acoustic, so you’ll love this song as it has more intensity, not to mention that Mayonnaise’s Monty Macalino also joined them in the studio. The band also explained the track perfectly in two words: unconditional love.

Bawat Daan – Ebe Dancel

It’s very rare to hear Clara Benin sing a Filipino song, so this cover of Ebe’s Bawat Daan sounded really special. Plus, she looks really cute while singing it! Their voices blend just fine—definitely a must-listen cover if you love this song.

Walang Hanggan – Quest

Quest’s Walang Hanggan is already hauntingly beautiful as it is, and adding a cello instrument in this cover added more emotions. Funny how they introduced cello guy Jaypee as “ka-dota”—just shows how they’re open to jam with anyone. You’ll be mesmerized towards the end, I swear.

Ang Huling El Bimbo – Eraserheads

Another throwback song, Eraserheads’ Ang Huling El Bimbo covers never go out of style, and Agsunta played this track perfectly—you could say that they millennialized it. As usual, you’ll find yourself singing along during chorus.
