Artists never stop creating. We’re halfway through the year and the music our favourite icons make are bound to keep our ears happy throughout the second half of the year. Check out this list for some of the most anticipated albums of 2018.

Queen by Nicki Minaj

As the rapper said on her instagram, her greatest work to date is entitled Queen which will be released on August 10. Nicki first announced the album at the MET Gala, but later pushed the June release date. The album art complements the title well and it’s all thanks to Mert Alas.

A track list is yet to be released, however, initially released singles Chun-Li and Barbie Tingz are expected to be onboard this much-awaited album. She released her well-received album The Pinkprint way back in 2014 and the to-be-released album is, of course, somehow expected to match or surpass the success of the former.

Sweetener by Ariana Grande

2018 is surely a big one for Ari. She recently got engaged to boyfriend (and now fiance) Pete Davidson and this coming August, fans are expecting for her to release a fourth studio album entitled Sweetener on the 17th.

Longtime collaborator Maz Martin produced half of the album while the other half was produced by Pharrell. Ariana was also revealed to have worked closely with Nas, Ilya and Savan Kotecha for this album. In her interview with Jimmy Fallon, Grande talked about her album.

“It’s kind of about bringing light to a situation or to someone’s life or somebody else who brings light to your life or sweetening the situation.”

We’re all waiting for Ari to bring sweetness straight to our ears. She released No Tears Left To Cry accompanied by it’s official music video last April 19 which was said to be her biggest Youtube debut. That would probably be undeniable with 15 million views in its first 24 hours. This just shows how the album, where the said song belongs, is surely one of the most anticipated albums for 2018.

Bloom by Troye Sivan

Troye’s Blue Neighborhood was definitely a heat and we’re all expecting that Bloom will no less live up to the fame. He’s been dropping tracks from the album since the beginning of the year starting with its lead single My! My! My! The singer’s recent performance of the said song at Taylor Swift’s Reputation Stadium Tour was closed with his announcement of Bloom’s release date: August 31.

Here’s a track list to slowly quench our thirst for one of the anticipated albums for 2018. His collaboration with Ariana is also part of this album.

  1. Seventeen
  2. My My My!
  3. The Good Side
  4. Bloom
  5. Postcard (feat. Gordi)
  6. Dance To This (feat. Ariana Grande)
  7. Plum
  8. What A Heavenly Way To Die
  9. Lucky Strike
  10. Animal

Treat Myself by Meghan Trainor

No excuses in calling this album her best one yet. When Meghan dropped the first single No Excuses for her third studio album last March, no one had an idea what was the name of the album to which the song belongs to. Last May, the singer released two new singles from the record: Let You Be Right and Can’t Dance.

Meghan took it to instagram to announce the official release date of her album Treat Myself. She shared that her whole family loves and sings along to all of the tracks. Fans can expect the album to drop and make everyone dance on August 31.

A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships by The 1975

Fans are in for a big treat with The 1975 coming back with two albums. The first, A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships is set to be released on October 2018. The second record will leave the fans waiting until May of next year. According to Healy, the 2019 album will be called Notes On a Conditional Form.

There is no official album art released for one of the most anticipated albums for 2018 yet, but fans’ guards are all up in case something shows up. In the meantime, we can all watch this music video of last month’s release Give Yourself a Try which is also part of the new album.

There goes our brief list. The year is far from over and these artists (plus even the ones outside this list) are all here to accompany us throughout 2018. Have any more albums in mind? Share them in the comments below!
