With only a week away before #PrideMonth officially ends, AfterParty with URBN QC celebrated #RiseUpTogether last night at URBN QC, Timog Ave. Q.C.
People from all walks of life came in as one in solidarity of the night’s theme. With the special performances by Kat DJ along with DJs Loonyo, Sp Espinosa, Maki Sinson David Ardiente, X-Factor , Marc Marasigan and Victor Pring, everyone was treated with non-stop party vibes.
We saw a good number of our friends in the LGBTQIA community and we couldn’t be much happier to have hosted an event in celebration of their rights and empowerment. As we know, the Philippines is still one of those countries who is yet to have a better legislative power in representation of the LGBTQIA’s rights.
On a lighter not — Here’s the aftermovie of what went down:
Capping off #PrideMonth right
To close things off, Manila Pride organized the biggest Pride March there is. Set to happen this coming June 30 at the Marikina Sports Center. It is the group’s annual initiative to create a community that is a safe place for everyone in the LGBTQIA+ flagship.
If I remember it right, the 2017 Pride March had a huge turnout of an estimated 7,700 people – with the inclusion of actress Nora Aunor and Senator Risa Hontiveros. The two, came to celebrate under the event’s theme, “Here Together” — last year’s Pride Month theme.
Althou, parades are not the only main event being done to promote equality — it is one of the most sough after. But just in case you needed to know, I hear there will be booths that will provide free HIV testing. They will also give away free condoms to encourage safe sex within the community.
