How To Spice Up Your Holiday Break

If you’re a lazy couch potato, getting a holiday break also means watching netflix all day and binge eating chips. In due time however you’ll get tired of this same old routine. You’ll crave for other things to do and you won’t have any idea which one to try first.

So what better way to spend it than to try doing something new? Say goodbye to your favorite series, and take this day off to go on an adventure, or something like that.

Check out these ideas, and we dare you to try them for this holiday break:

1. Hang out with friends

Instead of staying home, why not hang out with your friends? It’s a good enough opportunity to catch up with the latest happenings in their lives. You can try to grab drinks at a local KTV bar, eat at a buffet, watch a movie, go shopping, or maybe just hang out at a cafe

2. Travel alone

Take your bag, and just go out of town. It doesn’t have to be overseas! It could be as near as the next town from your house so you don’t have to spend a lot of money. Explore everything there is to explore, try the cafes and restaurants, and maybe discover a tourist spot that only the locals know about. Be spontaneous as adventure is just around the corner!

3. Try a new hobby

Whether it’s as simple as painting or as complicated as learning a new language, use your holiday break as a time to do the things you’ve always wanted to do. You won’t learn anything if you keep postponing it. Life’s too short to say “I’ll do it tomorrow” every day.

4. Visit a museum

Find your inner artist by wandering around local museums. There are so many artworks and artifacts out there needing your attention. Plus, museums are a great way to learn more about our culture. Don’t just go there to take aesthetic photos for your IG feed!

5. Go on a picnic

Don’t you just miss going out on picnics? Eating peanut butter and jam sandwiches, flying kites, reading a book whilst your lying on the grass — these are just some of the old-school things you can relive. Invite your family or friends, it’ll be a fun throwback!

6. Go on a hike

Hiking is so mainstream nowadays that you can hitchhike with a group of other tourists even if you planned the trip on the last minute. Some hiking trips are just for the day, while some stay overnight to watch the sunrise. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out on a lot! Just make sure the weather is hike-friendly before you push through.

7. Attend a music fest

As they say, music heals the soul. There are so many local bands waiting to be discovered, so attend music fests, gigs, and other concerts as much as you can. Download our AfterParty app to check out the upcoming events in the metro!

So what are you waiting for? Spend your holiday break wisely, there’s not much left for the rest of the year!
