What’s Your Cool Tour: Clark and Rosales
October 24, 2017 UDOU TEAM
AfterParty and SM North Luzon brought 18 different artists for the first leg of Fandom Mania presents What’s Your Cool. SM City Clark and SM City Rosales saw some of the country’s best DJs over the weekend for free simply by downloading the AfterParty and SM Supermalls app on their mobile phones!
What Went Down
Stationed by SM City Clark’s Tree Park, college DJ winner Aggy de Guzman kicked off the party with some hardcore girl power and classic hip hop tunes. Up next was music scene veteran Travis Monsod, accompanied by #THΛLOUDMOUTH Kappo The MC, who continued to bring in the curious crowd surrounding the vicinity. Kikoman translated his international upbringing during his set, but didn’t fail to give pride to his hometown of Angeles.
Another string of female empowerment rushed along in Jennifer Lee’s set and her lightshow bonus. The former Viva Hotbabe dove into the music world three years ago and has since then continued to show us that she’s more than just a pretty face. Modern-day renaissance man Marc Marasigan wasted no time taking the crowd to another level, showing off his insane intro visuals.
When the lights dimmed down, all eyes were focused on the LED screen smack in the middle. Rhymes of hard work, loyalty, and passion echoed the venue, a good reminder for the waiting crowd. The lights flashed brightly and a mixture of confetti and smoke erupted in the air, bringing the audience back to life as X-Factor, Victor Pring, and Joyce Pring, the tour headliners, took the stage with no holds barred. Ending the first night was Tom Taus, former child star turned famed Los Angeles DJ. With a mini electronic drum kit set up next to him, he took his brand of West Coast innovation to the shores of the Philippines.
We turned up Sunday night at SM City Rosales with some friends of our own. We invited our first college DJ winner Mohit Alamchandani to open, succeeded by winner SP Espinosa alongside MC Boo. Khai Lim followed suit, adding on her specialty of hitting the notes on the mic as she sang some of EDM’s greatest hits, and of course photos with her fans. Australian (yet honorary Filipino) DJ Callum David engaged the crowd with his infectious energy and mind-numbing drops. Rounding up the first leg were MVRXX and guitarist/percussionist Alwyn Cruz, a duo who surprised Pangasinan with their incorporation of sneaky trap drops and epic guitar solos.
On October 27 – 29, it’s SM City Valenzuela, SM City Olongapo, and SM City Cabanatuan’s turn to experience the country’s hottest DJ tour. We’ve got the likes of Kat DJ, Funk Avy, MC Pao, and Ace Ramos joining us on the second leg of the tour so don’t sleep on this! Gain entrance to this event in three easy steps:
