After a grueling week from work or school finishing deadlines, we always look forward to the coming weekends. While others spends their weekends clubbing, night-out with friends, or travelling to new destinations or vacation hot-spots, some of us (including me) just love to spend their weekends lying on their bed, have a cup of coffee, read a book and to just lay-back and relax.

 

Here’s 10 local tunes perfect for those laidback and lazy weekends:

1. South Border – Kahit Kailan (James Ussher “Hanggang sa Huli” Bootleg)

 

First on this list is James Ussher’s remix of the famous South Border song “Kahit Kailan.” The soulful vocals of South Border and the masterful sample chops perfectly compliments the eclectic hip-hop type beat. This track may be short, but James Ussher made sure to make you feel nostalgic while bopping your head into those drums. Perfect for your slow mornings.

 

2. slutgirl is dead – Candy (Prod. by Similarobjects)

 

 

Little is known about slutgirl is dead, but this song perfectly sums what she and her music is all about. Her lazy yet alluring voice, along with Similarobjects masterful production makes this song an instant go-to for those chilled-out days.

 

3. washere – WASAKSUKI

 

 

washere’s songs are always a favorite go-to music of mine whenever I’m feeling lazy. His minimalistic trap-style beat along with his simple yet catchy lyrics is sure to worm its way into your brain—which you will catch yourself singing it repeatedly, especially this one. Tuss.

 

4. Al James – Pahinga

 

 

When I heard this song by Trap-soul Rapper/Producer, Al James, I quickly fell in love with it. Al James deep voice which he incorporated into his singing and rapping, and his lazy rap flow made him stand out with other artist who is also doing the kind of music he does. With that, here is Al James telling you to kick it and just lay back, forgetting all your woes for the meantime.

 

5. serro – Polaroid feat. Cloudboy, K.vsh & The Red Horse

 

 

This song is for you Korean-loving people out there. His collaboration with Cloudboy, K.vsh & The Red Horse automatically made this RnB/Soul single a hit. I never thought of me loving a song with lyrics I don’t understand, and it’s all thanks to this.

 

6. Alisson Shore – Fooling (Prod. by Ash Wenzday)

 

 

Alisson Shore’s singing never fails to make me calm. His love songs with his soulful whips are guaranteed to make you want to fall in-love with someone. And hey, you might probably sing one his songs to whoever you want to serenade.

 

7. Ryoku X Dana Blase – Smoke (Snow Fox Jazzy Revamp)

 

 

Jazz can be perfect for all occasions, may it be for relaxing, thinking or just by simply listening. In this song, Snow Fox Apprentice remix of an already beautiful song “Smoke” and gave it a new flavor. With Dana Blase’s cold, relaxing voice along with Snow Fox Apprentice masterful jazz composition made this the perfect song to relax to.

 

8.  Ryoku X Clara Benin – Window Seat

 

 

Another song from Ryoku in this list but, this time with local-indie icon Clara Benin. Ryoku is known for his eclectic style of producing that combines Jazz, Hip-Hop and Disco with Clara Benin’s signature singing is what made this song on another level. This song is guaranteed to to comfort you through the lazy days.

 

9. Pasta Groove – Pag Tumatagal Lalong Tumitibay (feat. Armi Millare)

 

This hidden gem from local producer Pasta Groove and UDD’s front man Armi Millare is truly mesmerizing. “Pag Tumatagal Lalong Tumitibay” was originally performed by Pinoy disco combo, Wadab.  Pasta Groove and Armi Millare’s rendition of this song gave a new texture for Manila Sound.

10. Pasta Groove – Psilo

 

 

Another gem from Pasta Groove and Armi Millare. This song posses a unique soul of it’s own, with Pasta Groove’s skillful production, matched with Armi Millare’s signature made this must-have in your OPM playlist. This will surely guarantee a chill and laidback weekend with this playing on your speakers.
