‘The Salonpas’ Mixtape by Dimas Q&A
September 5, 2017 AFTERPARTY TEAM
Emoji Records and NoEgo’s very own Dimas has unleashed his aptly-named “The Salonpas” mixtape that features some of today’s headbanging tunes.
Dimas’s full mixtape runs a minute shy over the 30-minute mark. It’s perfect for starting your day or even just getting for the commute home. We all know how hard it is to travel in the Metro.
I had the pleasure of seeing and hearing Dimas perform during the recent Anarchy at Moe’s. As expected, his mixtape also makes you want to bang your head to the beat.
As of this writing, “The Salonpas” mixtape is 3rd in Dubstep Mix, 20th in the Dubstep chart, and 61st on the Bass chart on Mixcloud!
Dimas was kind enough to answer a few questions for us regarding his new mixtape.
For those who are unfamiliar with headbanging, why call it The Salonpas mixtape?
Logic dictates that headbanging for at least 30 minutes straight requires pain relief, therefore Salonpas!
What inspired you to make the mixtape?
I’ve always been a basshead. I try to slip as much dubstep as possible in every one of my sets, whether it be in a club or a festival. It’s my first love, and it’s the one sub-genre of EDM that I will always focus on whenever making a mixtape.
What are your favorite tracks in the mixtape?
For the most part, I always try to mix music which I consider my favorites, as a means of introducing them to people. However, a few notable exceptions would be Trampa’s “Runners”, Seven Lions’ remix of “Omen in the Rain” and The Frim’s “Swipe My Swords”, because effin’ money! Some of my remixes I personally love which are included in this mixtape are “Stay the Night”, “In The Pit” and “Live for the Night”.
Any upcoming gigs in Manila?
Nothing’s set in stone yet, so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. After all, a guy’s gotta have some more bacon in his life. *hint hint*
Any upcoming creations?
I’ve got an upcoming release under Emoji Records, and a few other tracks which I’m planning to release independently for free. You guys better prepare your bass faces for those, as well as a healthy supply of liniments.
If you are a cactus, why?
Because I can be a little prick, if needed be.
Thank you to Dimas for his wonderful answers! Check out his mixtape above!
