Hold on tight, The Killers just released a new song and announced fresh details for the follow up to their 2012 Battleborn album. Whew, that seems forever ago.

The Las Vegas based glamorous indie rockers, put out ‘The Man,’ a funky bass driven song, last month. It was their first ever song after 5 years! (Not counting Brandon Flowers’ solo work and their Christmas Album)

Maybe that was what’s wrong with the world, no The Killers. (Well, not in a literal sense, if you know what I mean…)

After patiently waiting and anticipating, their second single ‘Run for Cover’ is finally here!

Energetic and Ambitious

The track starts off with aggressive guitars and then comes the vigorous beat that makes you bang your head. Brandon Flowers then spits out the words that complements the music. Fast and then slowing down at the end that you can actually feel him dragging you with his voice and hooking you afterwards.

Then comes the burst of energy that is the chorus as Flowers screams at you to run for cover.

The track somehow grows on you as you listen to it, and the next thing you know, it’s already stuck in your head. Classic ‘Killers.

Wonderful Wonderful

Along with the new song, we finally get an update on the fifth album! (After 5 long years… let that sink in.)

It will be titled Wonderful Wonderful that will be released under Island Records on September 22. There will be a total of 10 tracks and an additional song and two ‘The Man’ remix on the deluxe version.

Judging from the two singles, The Killers still got it and we can’t wait for the wonderful Wonderful Wonderful album.

North American Tour

To top the good news off, they have also announced a North American Tour that kicks off next year!

You can check out the details below:

We know what you’re thinking and yes, we also do hope they add an Asian leg of the tour and genuinely pray they stop by our wonderful wonderful country!

Until then, go put ‘Run for Cover‘ on repeat.
