Lorde is back and she’s out for blood. Lorde’s debut album came out when she was at the ripe old age of 16, but fast forward four years and our girl is back with a new story to tell.
it's the first chapter of a story i'm gonna tell you, the story of the last 2 wild, fluorescent years of my life. this is where we begin

Green Light, Lorde’s single off of her sophomore album “Melodrama” is the new anthem of all scorned exes. It is the storm before the calm, the stage where everything is broken down right before it’s built back up. Lorde puts it best, “I realized this is that drunk girl at the party dancing around crying about her ex boyfriend who everyone thinks is a mess. That’s her tonight and tomorrow she starts to rebuild. And that’s the song for me”.
Gone are the days of the “glossy idiot god”. This is the new Lorde, one that’s more real than royal. “Melodrama” is the result of those two years of self-discovery, the lost years where she fell of the grid, the “fluorescent” years of self discovery. The album as a whole serves as Lorde’s rebirth—her coming of age. It’s her reflection on her first year living on her own and making decisions for herself.
“Melodrama” officially drops on June 16. “Green Light” and “Liability” can be streamed on all streaming platforms while you all wait.
